We built the gold jacket infrared halogen lamp for those moments when a standard heater just can’t cut it. It’s about getting intense, precise heat exactly where you need it, fast. This is a shortwave IR emitter, and it’s all about speed. It wakes up instantly and gives you tight control over the temperature, which is exactly what you need when your process can’t afford to wait around.
The power behind the heat
These lamps are built to run on high voltage, usually 400V. That’s how we pack a serious 2500W of power into a compact 300mm tube. The result? You get a huge amount of heat concentrated in a small space, perfect for those focused heating zones. We chose the 300mm length on purpose. It slips into tight chambers without ever compromising the radiant intensity. Running at high voltage also keeps the current down for the same power, which means you can keep your wiring and connection losses in check. Just remember, your control gear and insulation need to be rated for the job.
The guts of the design
At the heart of it is a halogen-cycle quartz tube. It keeps the output steady over the lamp’s life by constantly regenerating the filament. That means consistent performance, day after day. Then there’s the gold jacket. It’s a thin, reflective coating on the outside that throws the IR heat back toward the target. This boosts the usable radiant power and cuts down on wasted heat, so you get more punch per watt. It also helps shape the energy pattern, making sure the heat goes where you want it. And for the connections, we spec’d R7s or Sk15 connectors. They’re built for industrial life—handling the high temps, holding a solid connection, and making replacements a simple, straightforward job when it’s time for maintenance.
Where it shines
Use these lamps wherever you need fast, localized heating. Think PET blowing, adhesive curing, plastic welding—anywhere that speed and control matter. The shortwave IR profile hits your target with near-instant heat, giving you tighter control over your cycle times. The gold coating squeezes more effective power density out of the lamp, so you hit your target temperature faster without having to over-spec the whole system. And because of the halogen cycle, the brightness stays stable, so you don’t get that slow fade as the lamp ages. One thing to keep in mind: that intense heat density needs proper cooling and thermal isolation. Plan your heat shielding and airflow from the start, or you’ll shorten the life of the components. We designed these lamps to be practical and easy to live with. They’re simple to wire, a breeze to swap out, and they’re built to take the heat, cycle after cycle.
