The Power, Voltage, and Shape—Straight Talk
Shortwave infrared means serious punch and a lightning-quick response. The ring shape focuses all that energy exactly where you want it, so you can run fast cycles without turning the whole machine into an oven. These lamps are spec’d for real industrial work, delivering wattage that actually matters at the target. Voltage is chosen to match the load and your control gear. A 400V rating, for example, keeps current lower on long runs, so you can use thinner wiring. That’s a big help when you’re wiring several lamps in parallel. But higher voltage also means your control circuit has to be on point—fuses, contactors, and insulation need to be matched to the lamp. As for size, it’s all about fitting in. A typical 300mm tube length and the ring diameter are picked to match standard machine windows and reflector channels. That gives you consistent focal distances and repeatable mounting, so swapping a lamp on the floor doesn’t turn into an engineering project.
Inside the Lamp: Quartz, Halogen, and Solid Connections
The filament inside burns hot—over 2500°C—so the envelope has to stay crystal clear. We use high-purity quartz because it handles the shock of rapid start-ups and stays steady, cycle after cycle. The halogen fill isn’t just a buzzword. It powers a chemical regeneration cycle that keeps the envelope clean and keeps output stable over the life of the lamp. The ring shape is held together with a tough internal support and a sealed quartz build that shrugs off vibration and thermal stress. The outer coating is chosen to manage reflection and stand up to gritty plant conditions. For connections, we use proven industrial connectors like R7s and SK15. They make wiring quick and secure, with solid contact for high current. And they mean the lamp drops right in as a replacement in many existing machines, so downtime stays short.

This setup is born for jobs that demand fast heating and repeatable heat profiles—PET blowing, plastic thermoforming, coating drying, adhesive curing. The shortwave output penetrates quickly, and the ring shape gives you a clean, defined heating zone. You get a fast warm-up, stable output while you’re running, and easy lamp swaps thanks to standard connectors. One thing to keep in mind: the power density is high, so your machine needs to be built to pull heat away from the mounting area. Airflow, heat shielding, and thermal management have to be planned up front.
