
Making Your Bathroom Actually Warm
Nobody likes stepping out of a hot shower into a freezing cold bathroom. It’s a shock to the system. That’s why we build our wall-mounted heaters using shortwave halogen tech. Here is the secret: these don’t waste time trying to heat up all the air in the room. Instead, they send infrared heat straight to you. It’s that immediate, cozy warmth you feel the second you flip the switch. Because they’re so efficient, we can keep the units small without losing any of the punch. The guts of the machine At the heart of it all is a quartz halogen tube. We push the wattage high because we know you want that heat now, not in twenty minutes. We also use a high-pressure halogen gas inside the tube. It sounds technical, but all it really does is protect the filament so the bulb lasts way longer than a cheap old lightbulb. Just make sure your home’s voltage (110V or 220V) matches the unit, or you’ll burn through the filaments way too fast. Keeping it simple (and dry) We use snap-in connectors—usually R7s—so that if a tube ever dies, you can just pop a new one in. No need to tear the whole thing off the wall. To make sure the heat actually hits you, we use polished aluminum or gold-coated reflectors to aim the beam downward. A quick tip: keep those reflectors clean. If they get scratched or pitted, you’re basically throwing away a chunk of your heat. And since bathrooms are basically steam rooms, we wrap everything in a moisture-resistant chassis. Without a proper seal, the humidity would eat the wiring for breakfast. A few things to keep in mind The heat is instant, but those quartz tubes getseriously hot. Don’t mount them right next to a curtain or a low-hanging towel. Give it at least 500mm of breathing room so you don’t have any accidents. Also, these pull a decent amount of power. If you plug too many heavy appliances into the same circuit, you’re going to trip your breaker. Just double-check that your wiring can handle the total wattage before you get started.
